Running, biking, and what’s next

I figured I would start working on a list of events I was planning on participating in this summer as I work towards my goal of running 50K for Runfos. I’ll work on the list as the summer stretches on.

June
Panther Prowl (5K)
Zeeland Zoom (5K)

July
Lakeshore Miracle Run (10K)

August
Oshtemo Sunburst (5K)
Can Do Beer Run (7K)

September
Park2Park Half Marathon (21K)

I figure a half marathon at the end of the outdoor season would be a good way to finish things up, and it will give me something to train for. I’m not sure that I’d be up for doing a full marathon; I’ve been following a friend’s marathon prep and between soccer, work, and everything else going on in my life, I’m not sure I can dedicate the time to prepare for something that big. But who knows.

I’m also considering training for the Holland Hundred in July (I’d only do the 72K ride, not the full 100 miles). I did the ride twice a couple years ago, once on a tandem with my dad and once on my own bike and had a pretty good time, and I think I could get back up there again pretty easily. I also kind of want to do the Apple Cider Century in Three Oaks, but that ride is the day after the half marathon, and I doubt I’ll be doing much after that…

Anybody else have any major goals for the summer?
