So, no progress on the efforts to restore a sense of balance. Last week was basically a train wreck for me. It wasn’t pretty.
So we try again. I have better hopes for this next week, largely because I have every intention of getting to bed at a reasonable hour tonight. I’ll need to, since I’m rolling on a grand total of about 5 hours of sleep from last night. My goal for this week is going to be pretty simple: hit the fitness center or MVP five times this week. If I can get back in the habit of getting up at 5:30am, this should be pretty doable. In theory.
We had our first indoor game of the 2011-2012 season, and A-TEAM can at last reset the record. We’re now 0-1 for the season.
It was a tale of two games; we had an explosive start, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the first 15 minutes. We knocked another one in to make it 5-1 at the half, but we were starting to get tired. The other team seemed to wake up during the halftime, and we went from playing an aggressive game to scrambling to cover the field. We never scored again and watched them bang in 8 goals for a final score of 5-9. It was a little disheartening to see us lose like that, but it basically comes down to stamina; not enough of us have enough of it. Regardless, I’m confident that we’ll get there. The odds of us winning a game have never looked better.
Last night I hit up downtown GR with a few friends, and I can honestly say that it’s probably the most fun I’ve had down there to date. I grabbed the flame cane for my House costume again, threw on the blazer and sneakers, and filled up my bottle of Vicodin for a night at Gardello’s, which is right by HopCat. Despite it being a smaller bar, it wasn’t as crowded as I feared. We basically spent the entire evening there before calling it good. Regrettably, I do not have any pictures; I need to resolve to get my phone camera lens replaced so it stops taking hazy shots.
Anyways, happy Halloween and I’ll see you all later!
