A few weeks ago, while planning my trip to California, one of my brewing friends suggested that I stop by Bison Brewing and locate someone known to the Internet as “The Beer Wench”.

Yesterday, as part of my afternoon of wandering Berkeley solo, I decided to track down the Beer Wench. After finishing up my beer sampling at Triple Rock, I began my quest, which was a roughly 40-minute walk down University drive. At some point the streets went from being named to numbered, and I knew I was getting close.
Bison Brewing, as it turns out, was not an actual brewery, but instead just the corporate offices for the company. The only indication that I was in the right spot was the six-packs of Bison beer on the counter behind the reception desk. Fortunately, though, the Wench was there, and was willing to take a quick picture with me, because my friends likely would not have believed it otherwise.
It was kind of a surreal experience; this was someone that I had stumbled across on the Internet and then found in real life. I have no idea how often that happens to her, but many thanks to the Beer Wench for humoring me in my quest. I got some recommendations from her for a few other spots I could visit while I’m out here, and then set off back towards campus to meet up with my friend and kick off the evening.
