California Adventure: Tuesday

I had previously blogged about some of Tuesday’s major adventures, so rather than rehash it all again I’ll just summarize:

Tuesday my friend had class and work, so around 1 I decided to head downtown in search of a local sushi place. The result: Party Sushi.

Following the California and Bomb rolls, I moved on to sample one of Berkeley’s breweries, which was a really great way to kill the afternoon. A good deal of tasty (and rather strong) beer was consumed at Triple Rock Brewery.

Finally, after fortifying myself with beer, I set out on a quest to find the Beer Wench. It was a success.

Dinner Tuesday night was homemade macaroni and cheese. We blended parmesan and aged white cheddar together to make a delicious sauce. Easily the best mac and cheese I’ve had that didn’t come from a box.

My friend knew about my plan to give up alcohol for Lent, and we had a plan to head out and have some (or in my case, a great deal of) beer, but the vibe wasn’t right. Instead, we substituted bars with a $17 fifth of Jack Daniels (so cheap! $22 in Michigan), some Diet Coke, and a night full of Halo. It was a good finale.
